A Faster Mobile Web: AMP enable your Site

Earlier this year WordPress announced that they will support Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) — a new open-source project spearheaded by Google to dramatically improve the performance of web pages on mobile devices.

Now, here’s the big news: Google has just announced that it is bringing AMP pages to all of its global search results! Given that research shows that the faster a site loads, the more likely it is for users to stay with them, this is one advantage you should not miss out!

Just install the plugin by going to https://wordpress.org/plugins/amp/, install it and activate it!

How to set your AMP site

You can customise how your AMPed site will look like by going to Appearance -> AMP -> Design. There you’ll be able to customize your AMP design, including the header text color, link colors, and a dark or light color scheme.

Tens of millions of WordPress sites now have AMP pages, with page load speeds up to 89% faster than normal in some cases. It’s great for your readers and followers, as faster loading times mean they’ll get to your content sooner, even when they’re on the go.

To see your posts in AMP form, just add /amp to the back of the URL, or ?amp=1. This is done automatically for users that reach your site through Google. The manually adding of /amp or ?amp=1 is to let you check if your post looks ok.
